The Brant Community Healthcare System (BCHS) Volunteer Association is a not for profit organization responsible for providing volunteer support and raising funds in support of the Brantford General and Willett, Paris. The BCHS Volunteer Association is an engaged partner to the BCHS and contributions made to the Association are directed to the Foundation to benefit the purchase of patient equipment, renovate spaces and provide investment in resources to enhance the exceptional care provided at the BCHS.
Position Summary
Effective September 7th, 2021 all applicants must provide proof of full vaccination against Covid-19 (in the form of watermark receipts from the provincial portal) or provide written proof of a medical or religious reason for not being fully vaccinated as per the provincial direction as set out by the CMOH Directive 6.
Reporting to the Senior Coordinator, Volunteer Engagement, the Volunteer Association Assistant is a key member of the BCHS Volunteer Association team; providing day-to-day administrative and program support to team. This front-line support position is a positive, helpful and informed representative to our external and internal communities; including volunteers, visitors, hospital personnel, Board members and community leaders and ensures smooth functioning within the office.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist the BCHS Volunteer Association Chair to develop and execute a plan for digitizing archival materials and Association documents.
- Responsible for sorting, scanning and appropriately filing all materials in an electronic format.
- Assist the BCHS Volunteer Association Fundraising committee chair to coordinate annual fundraisers in support of the BCHS Volunteer Association.
- Work with our Fundraising committee to identify and plan future special events/fundraisers.
- Provide administrative support to the BCHS Volunteer Association board including drafting letters, preparing presentations, and other duties, as requested.
- Maintain accurate files and enter contact information, or other volunteer information/updates in a timely and consistent basis into Better Impact database.
- Assist Board Chair with preparation of materials for Board meetings, Annual General Meeting and coordinating committee meetings.
- Provide administrative support to the BCHS Volunteer Association for the updating of policies, procedures, position descriptions and board orientation manual.
- Maintain and ensure the integrity of confidential volunteer, Association and general office (both electronic and hard copy) files.
